"HOLLYWOOD SUCCESS” FOR SFSDF FILM ACTING STUDENT,
TAYA ASIMOS!

TayaTaya Asimos recently moved down to Los Angeles, after studying film acting here with us at SFSDF. Since then, she has been booking one great part after the other: co-star of a new online-sitcom named "The Littlest Panther" by Turner Broadcasting Systems; co-host of the cooking show "Hungry Bites" on the internet; an industrial for GAP, Inc. She also signed on with “Stars”, the prestigious talent agency.

Congratulations Taya, we’re very proud of you!

Here’s what Taya had to say about our school:

"My experience at SFSDF was a priceless one. Under the guidance of Celik Kayalar, PhD, the Director of the “Film Acting Program”, I was given the opportunity to work with extremely qualified acting instructors such as Celia Shuman and Hester Schell. They gave me encouragement and constructive criticism when I needed it most. I earned a supporting role in a SFSDF production, which provided me with great footage to add to my demo-reel, and I made industry contacts and great friends.

At SFSDF, I felt like my craft and career was taken seriously, and I looked forward to every class I had. Now, I'm excited about being able to put all that great training to good use in Los Angeles! Thanks again SFSDF for everything!!"
Taya Asimos, LA Actor

"Great acting instructors, tons of networking & casting opportunities!"
Linden Young, Acting Student at SFSDF

"A must for film acting! I cannot express in words how great these classes have been, all taught by fantastic acting instructors. The school is roomy, has excellent equipment, and I already have been in 8 student films and offered a part in the feature-film, "Moonlight Sonata". Please check it out!"
Joe Madero, Acting Student at SFSDF

"At SFSDF, the teachers and directors genuinely care about you. They found my strengths and reminded me why I loved acting so much in the first place. It's not just some money scam like many other classes I've been to at other schools."
Jordana Johns, Acting Student at SFSDF

"The Teachers are fantastic, many of them are successful film actors in their own right. I would highly recommend any or all of the series of classes for any actor who is seriously considering a career in film, or just trying to learn more about the industry.

One of the greatest assets of the program is the director of the Film Acting School, Celik Kayalar. He genuinely cares about his students, the programs and the instructors. He has created an environment that is engaging, supportive and collegial... the entire program is infused with his positive, friendly, and warm demeanor. He is always creating new ways for actors to get not only on-campus film acting exposure but also real world experience. I have yet to be a part of a program where the support and networking opportunities are so strong"
Jeff Handy, Acting Student at SFSDF

"In your first term, you could audition for a whole room of in-house filmmakers and be shooting your first role weeks later. Experienced, energetic faculty will help you learn and go as deep as you're willing. This is the real deal!"
Eli Kramer, Acting Student at SFSDF

"In these classes, the on-camera experience has been invaluable. Within the first five weeks of class, I have been offered a role in a feature-film and in several student-films. No other acting school offers such exciting opportunities! This includes the total beginners too. It's an amazing place!"
Michelle Grey, Acting Student at SFSDF

"I love the sense of camaraderie and safety that I feel in these classes. SFSDF is a cut above the rest!"
Rana Kangas-Kent, Acting Student at SFSDF

"So far, I've taken Film Acting 1, 2, and 3 and I've had an amazing experienceThe first thing I noticed when I came to SFSDF was how friendly the teachers and the director, Celik, were. They all seemed to really care about my development as an actor. In particular, Celik went out of his way to introduce me to film-directors that lead to great roles in short films. He taught me a lot about networking and I've made contacts that will definitely help me in my career. I would 100% recommend SFSDF to anyone who wants to jumpstart their career as an actor."
Jamie Burke, Acting Student at SFSDF

"I have attended two other schools of film/acting in San Francisco and I can honestly say that my experience at SFSDF is by far the superior of the three. The extremely exciting, educational, warm and attentive environment here is what keeps me signing up for new classes."
Tony Williams, Acting Student at SFSDF

"Love SFSDF! It offers challenging film acting courses with real applicable usage. The opportunity is there to work on student film projects. It's a safe, professional environment, and so much fun!"
Kay Ewing, Acting Student at SFSDF

"The teachers are all outstanding for both beginning actors and experienced actors. The unique part of the program to me is that we work side by side with film students. This gives us the chance to practice our skills in student films.

The program is very well run by Celik Kayalar, PhD. He will go out of his way to find the perfect class for you, or step in as a scene-partner, if necessary. I'm not sure what his PhD. is in but I suspect it's in the art of living. His program is artistically and financially a very sound investment for your acting future. I can give it two thumbs up, way up!"
Vincent Leddy, Acting Student at SFSDF

"I think it's a brilliant idea to bring acting students and filmmakers together under one roof. The opportunities for both are boundless. In addition, the acting teachers SFSDF has chosen are top quality."
Sarah Schwartzmann, Acting Student at SFSDF

"Warren David Keith is an amazing teacher. He is very clear and I really enjoy my experience studying with him in his "Advanced" class. I appreciate his professionalism and his guidance.

Also, I really appreciate the professionalism at the school. This has not been the case at the other places I have studied. The director of the program Celik Kayalar is awesome!
Edith Reiner, Acting Student at SFSDF

"All classes are conducted in a nurturing and professional atmosphere that I found both creatively stimulating and a lot of fun. The opportunity to audition for and act in student films at the school is a unique resource that I have not found elsewhere (Acted in 7 films already) "
Brendan Sweeney, Acting Student at SFSDF

"So far I've taken two classes. Brian D. Scott (Acting Essentials) has the patience of a saint! I never believed you could teach someone how to act, till I took his class. If you have an ounce of talent, he'll find it!

Barbara Scott's "Improv for Camera" class is a laugh a minute! When I go to her class, I feel like I'm going to play with friends. No matter your age or experience, you are guaranteed to have a lot of fun while learning a great skill"
Jordana Johns, Acting Student at SFSDF

"SFSDF's Acting School is much more than an acting school. It's also a community of highly inventive artists challenging and supporting each other, creating unexpected opportunities for work and growth in front of and behind the camera, and setting the stage for the rebirth of filmmaking in San Francisco Bay Area."
Don Schwartz, Acting Student at SFSDF

"I've been attending SFSDF for a short time, however as an student in Celia Shuman's acting class, it's immediately obvious that she has enormous enthusiasm for acting and coaching acting, and has the experience to back that up. I'm equally impressed by the Director of The Film Acting Program, Celik Kayalar's dedication to the actor and filmmaker. He's providing many opportunities for students to improve skills and gain functional experience for furthering one's career. He certainly sets the tone of the school with his approachability and "24/7" accessibility. SFSDF is unique in that it affords an ongoing working connection between the actor and the filmmaker. It's worth checking out"
Taylor Brock, SAG Actor, Student at SFSDF

"The acting students, teachers and staff at SFSDF have been the best. Without them my movie may have never been made. If everyone else would take this school's lead, movie making in the Bay Area would be easier. I highly recommend SFSDF for both indies and pros alike. Thank you Celik for making it all possible!"
Morgan Hampton
Independent Filmmaker who recently cast 9 of our acting students in his feature-film for theatrical release, "Razor's Ring", including the lead roles. This film is now in post-production.
